A Lover and great defensor of natural landscapes, the gaucho José Lutzenberger (17/12/1926-14/5/2002) was praised with a garden called after him. The space, opened for visitations, is on the 5th floor (terrace) of Casa de Cultura Mario Quintana, on Centre district, another great reason for visiting.
In the garden there is a diversity of representative swamp, desert, prairie and tropical regions species, other than bamboo and wood installations. It is a sort of refugee to nature contemplation among the urban chaos. It opens for visiting from Tuesdays to Fridays, from 9h to 18h30, and on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, from 12h to 18h30.
